Man Loses 26 Pounds with AI-Generated Running Plan, Coach Approves
Greg Mushen, a tech pro from Seattle, used a free online chatbot called ChatGPT to create a running program for him. He wasn't a fan of running before, but he wanted to develop a healthy exercise habit.

The AI's plan was simple and gradual. It started with small steps like putting his running shoes next to the front door. His first run, three days into the program, was just a few minutes long. Over time, he worked his way up to longer runs. Three months later, he's running six days a week and has lost 26 pounds.

An expert running coach confirmed that the AI's advice was sound.

One interesting part of the AI's plan was that it didn't start with running at all. The first task was just to put his shoes by the door, and the next day to schedule a run.

ChatGPT-4 Details Got Leaked — Shocking Details
GPT-4 is 10 times larger than its predecessor, GPT-3, and is made up of approximately 1.8 trillion parameters (these are like dials that the model adjusts to learn from data) spread across 120 layers.

The model uses a method called a Mixture of Experts (MoE), which is like having a team of 16 specialists. Each specialist has about 111 billion parameters.

Using this team approach makes the model more efficient, requiring fewer resources to operate than if it was just one big model.

GPT-4 was trained using a massive amount of data, about 13 trillion pieces of text from the internet, books, and research papers.

To keep the costs down, OpenAI used clever techniques to split the work and used large batches of data at once.

Even so, the estimated cost to train GPT-4 was around $63 million.

OpenAI could have used more than 16 experts for even better performance, but decided on 16 due to some technical challenges.

The cost to run GPT-4 is about three times higher than the previous model, mainly because it needs larger computer clusters and is less efficient.

GPT-4 also has a special feature for handling tasks that involve images and videos, not just text. It's thought that OpenAI may be using an approach called speculative decoding to keep the model's response time and costs in check.

This involves using a smaller model to make some predictions in advance, which helps the larger model work more efficiently.
