In a recent chat with 60 Minutes, AI luminary and ex-Google Brain expert, Geoffrey Hinton, shared some thought-provoking insights. He believes that our current AI systems are on the brink of outsmarting human intelligence. If we're not careful, they might just get the upper hand.
Diving deeper, Hinton expressed his conviction that AI, like chatbots, aren't just predicting words – they genuinely understand and reason. He even predicts that in a mere five years, AI might out-reason us, potentially leading to manipulation or even dominance.
While he's optimistic about the vast health benefits AI promises, Hinton doesn't shy away from the potential pitfalls: job losses, biases, misinformation, and even the emergence of AI in warfare.
Its not the first time Hinton is saying this! What do you think about this? Is AI going to change the world for worse or for better.
Is Google completely lost in AI? Hey there! Google's been up to some exciting stuff lately. They've come up Vertex AI search platform by teaming up with the medical model, Med-PaLM 2. The goal? Helping health pros seamlessly bring together all that scattered clinical data.

With Vertex, healthcare teams can now easily search through different sources, be it EHRs, clinical notes, medical images, or even genomic data.
Got a question about a patient's record? Just ask in plain English! Vertex blends natural language queries with structured search, making it super user-friendly.
Worried about privacy? Google's got it covered with top-notch encryption and a promise to stay HIPAA compliant.
This is absolutely important for Google, because so far they have lagged behind OpenAI, Microsoft when it comes to AI and maybe this might get them the momentum they need to compete.
AI deepfakes: Getting much better yet much problematic as well??
So, that viral video of Mr. Beast offering 10,000 iPhones for $2 each on TikTok? TOTAL FAKE, just the latest in a series of AI scams slipping through on social media.
Remember the deepfake of Tom Hanks promoting dental stuff? Yep, that happened. And there was the one with Andrew Huberman back in February.
The problem is, even the companies behind AI struggle to spot these fakes on their own platforms. It's like a dentist with yellow teeth - not a good look.
Google and others are working on it, but deepfakes are evolving faster. No quick fix, but you can read more here.
On a brighter note, better video dubbing is a win for marketing:
